I’m pleased to report that On Their Own Terms: Animal Liberation for the 21st Century is now available.
Carolyn Bailey of AR Zone has called it “one of the most important books on animal activism for a long time” (cheers, Carolyn!) and I hope friends at Vegan Place will find it worth your valuable time.
Click on any direct link to find the book where you are: here for a link to the book on Amazon.com (U.S.); or here for Britain. In Canada; in Spain.
At this time it is only available on Kindle, but the good news is that a Kindle reader can be freely obtained from the sites linked above, to use on a regular computer, tablet, or phone. I hope to do a print edition later in the year.
Let me know what you think. Love & liberation,
Lee.

Robert, Charlotte: thank you for lending your support and energy to my efforts in writing, for multiple and well-timed blasts of encouragement…
Lee, looks REALLY good! So very timely. Started reading it via Amazon Cloud. Some 30 day free trial thing. Worried you won’t get royalty though. Decided to just get a kindle and then order it. Don’t want to read for free and I prefer some semblance of book “feel’, with a kindle. I do hope you publish in hard copy sometime soon.
Looking forward to promotion here in Cle with you in April. And at the book club discussion then. Interestingly, we did Singer’s An Lib last eve. Flashing back to 1975. Kinda shocking rereading it after 40 years, with current perspective vs then. Of course, it took a lot of flak from most of us last eve. It will be interesting to further, and advance, that discussion with your deeper articulated insights. Thank you so much for this repub/revise of Terms. Critically important to keep your brilliant thinking in current circulation and discussion. The movement needs you more than ever.
Jack
Jack, it’s good to know you’ve already plunged in. Thanks for writing your initial thoughts down.
Yes, there’s a default mode that offers a new book to people through subscriptions and free trials. For several reasons which I’m learning in the course of this new experience, I might avoid that route in the future. But at least alternative offers do make the book especially accessible for the initial period, and I’d like to keep it as reasonable as possible beyond that point too. That said, thanks for your concern about supporting the work. I appreciate it, and it helps.
Were most of the book club members reading Singer for the first time – or, like you, revisiting it? What parts of Singer’s Animal Liberation drew the flak in your club meeting? Let me know your thoughts when you can – and how we can plan to do the most in the time we’ll have to talk on the meeting night.
Thanks for your encouragement, Jack. So glad to be seeing you in April.
